Hello to the forum,
The installation guide for Sametime tells me:
"To support the first Sametime server installed into your environment, the Domino 6..5.1 server must be installed as a first server in a Domino domain."
This topic has already been discussed here, i know, and the answer was, that installing Sametime on a secondary server works fine as well. But it seems that this does not apply to me.
My config: Two Domino Enterprise Servers (6.5.3), one is the "first server" and is LDAP server too, the other one is behind as a configuration directory using LDAP.
Problem: If i install Sametime (6.5.1) on the first server every thing works fine. If i follow the same installation procedure on the other server instead the following symptoms appear:
1.) The config dialog (the admin servlet) does not save, it returns after a few seconds and no modifactions are made. If i edit the stconfig.nsf by hand, my changes still don't appear in the config dialog. Sniffing the network shows, that the sametime server tries to communicate with the first server in the domain.
2.) If i try to attend a meeting, the client will try to connect with the frist server in the domain instead of the sametime server
3.) The broadcast services do not start
This problem occurs regardless wether i set up the second domino server as a "configuration directory" or "primary domino directory"
